Bowater Toyota puts on a show. Nelson has got talent!
We put on a show on Thursday as a part of the Toyota Talent Tour.
The idea was to allow those that were going to perform at today's NZ's Got Talent auditions the chance to try out their acts to a friendly crowd, gain some extra confidence, and perhaps give us all a bit of a lunch time show.
Classic Hits showed up and fired up the BBQ, the burgers were flying and the talent was more than we could have hoped for. We were lucky enough to be treated to a full hours worth of auditions including some incredible performances by JoJo Gary and Sasha Broad-Kolff.
We were lucky enough to be able to take videos from the event, including the stunning performances by JoJo Gary.
JoJo Gary is a local school girl who is quite the rising star.
Her performances here stunned everyone, and we can only imagine what the future holds for this talented young Nelsonian.
Her second song got quite a reception. The crowd thought overwhelmingly that this song was the right song for her to do at her audition.
Another of the standout performers was young 6 year old Poppy Ford who did a Lady Gaga MegaMix. Poppy originally came along with her Mum just to watch but ended up jumping up and giving it a go.
Another stunner was local lad Alexei Dath who did a great job with his songs - the most memorable being that old chestnut "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers.
Local thespian Jake Robinson also came to give us a 3 song treat, complete with one of his original songs to really mix it all up.
