The Bowater Toyota Social Club on a recent Rabbit Island Bike Trail Experience.

The Bowater Motor Group believe in supporting events that look after the community and are focussed on delivering a sense of well being to those involved.

What better event to sponsor than a Fun Bike Ride, and the perfect place to dish out some of our BMG Hi-Vis Safety Vests.

What are your plans for this coming Sunday 15th September?
At this stage the long range weather forecast looks great, with a booming sunny icon for the top of the south. If you have plans change them, and if you have not planned your weekend yet this will be a fantastic fun bike riding opportunity with the chance to win a whole lot of prizes, and get a bit of fresh country air at the same time!

The folks behind the world famous Rainbow Rage Bike Race have put together this short ride, and it is a great opportunity to be involved in a safe, marshalled group activity that has got a nice social component to it as well.

There are two different rides you can enter, a 42km or 20km Fun Ride - with the focus on the fun aspect!
Come one, come all! Most of us can ride the 42kms & anyone can ride 20kms, so pack up the kids if you have them and GET ON YOUR BIKE & RIDE!!!!

This is a great chance to see a wonderful part of the country, get some fitness into you or even enjoy some family time completing the ride with your kids!

The event is easy, with several different grades available to enter into if you are a competitive sort. You can enter online (scroll down to the bottom for a link), and turn up on the day prepared for exercise and fun, and the end result will be a memorable experience.

This ride has a long history, first taking place in 1952! Now you can be a part of that history.
In the early years it was not unknown for riders to stop off at the Owen River Tavern for a quick beer, or sometimes even a brandy to warm them up to get them to the finish line in appalling conditions. There has even been snow falling during the event in previous years! This year however the forecast is perfect (still - edited 11.09.13). The first events were held on gravel roads and were not for the faint hearted. Now the roads are sealed and a whole lot easier to experience.

Bowater Toyota 42kms Fun Ride.

Start by the historic Glenhope Railway Station on S.H.6
Sign‐on 9.00am to 10.30am.
A, B, C, SOCIAL Grades. Tandem.
Entry $25.00 Per Person.

Bowater Toyota 20kms Fun Ride.

Start at the Owen River Tavern.
Sign–on 9.30am to 10.30am.
Entry $15.00 per person.
PLEASE NOTE: Slightly later start time.

Both races will start at 11.00am and end in Murchison.

There will be a get together for a coffee or tea fuelled debrief at the fabulous Beechwoods Cafe with a Spot Prize draw at 1.30pm.
