The Solly family experience a new level of adventure with a Toyota RAV4

The Solly Family won a demonstrator weekend experience at the recent DOC & Toyota Kiwi Guardian's event at Tinline Camp in the Abel Tasman National Park. They opted to take a Toyota RAV4 away so they could get to some places there "normal" passenger car couldn't get them too. What an awesome time they had. They even sent in this report.

Here is the email from the Solly family:

We've had a fantastic weekend getting out to experience two of our National Parks, and enjoying the RAV4 from Bowater Toyota.

First up was Nelson Lakes National Park, with a rainy walk at Lake Rotoiti on Saturday. We had great fun exploring the beech forest and even tried tasting some of the honeydew.

And we got a bonus by finding the Toyota Kiwi Guardians marker on the Honeydew Walk - Caitlin's really excited to get another Kiwi Guardians medal - her fourth!

Overall rating: "Epic"!

Day 2: - Mt Arthur.

Sunday we ventured out to Kahurangi National Park, and a walk up to Mt Arthur Hut. The RAV4 was a treat to drive, and getting up Graham Valley Road was a breeze. It was pretty breezy when we got to Flora car park, too, and with occasional showers we decided not to attempt the summit of Mt Arthur, but the walk to Mt Arthur Hut was lovely - DOC has done a great job with the track, and the forest is a beautiful and magical place.

We saw more birds than at Rotoiti, including bellbird, weka, robin, tomtit and rifleman (our favourite - 'titipounamu' in Te Reo). A cheeky weka took quite an interest in us - or our sandwiches - back at the Flora carpark!

It's been a pleasure having the RAV4 for the weekend - it's really great drive and got us places that we'd be nervous about trying with our 'town car'. Thanks Bowater Toyota!

The story behind the story here is the prize.
The Solly's were at the DOC event celebrating the Toyota Kiwi Guardian's launch in the area and entered into the competition. They won and had the chance to see what a different lifestyle they COULD have by owning a vehicle such as the Toyota RAV4. The RAV took them to a side of the country they had previously not felt that confident in tackling. The pictures certainly depict a great family weekend away enjoying our magnificent region!
