We spin the winning wheel to find a Selfie winner
Our senses this July were certainly sharpened with the first Feast for the Senses Festival on the streets of Nelson. What a great way to liven up the city and celebrate winter and all of the great business around town. Bowater Honda was very proud to be involved, and jumped into it boots and all. The team organised the bright and funky vibrant yellow Honda Jazz for Uniquely Nelson manager Cathy Madigan to drive around in for the month as a very funky and visual mobile billboard with some attractive Feast for the Senses good looks. Not content with just this we decided to get behind an interactive Selfie Competition, cheekily dubbed the "Sense of Selfie".
The good folks of Nelson were invited to spot the Bowater Honda Jazz parked in prominent locations around town and snap a selfie with the car, and then upload that to the Facebook competition page. At stake was a great range of prizes which together created an awesome weekend of shopping and fun in the city including a $200 retail spend at Morrison Square, a $50 retail spend at the Nelson Farmers Market, overnight accommodation for two at the Palms Motel with continental breakfast, valued at $189, the weekend use of a brand new demonstrator vehicle from Bowater Honda and a $100 dining out voucher at Panama's Restaurant. What an awesome prize!!!!!
Over the month of July many activated their sense of selfie and got into it. Then came the fun part - drawing the winner!
With a car as funky and stylish as the all new Honda Jazz as a backdrop we decided to think quite outside the box and come up with a novel, and fair way of picking the winner. A winning wheel. Literally. Watch the video below.
Click on the play button to watch the video of how we drew the winner - it was quite ingenious and involved the winning wheel spin courtesy of the Honda Jazz.
After all that excitement of the Lotto-esque live draw it was time to gather in the troops and meet the winner Jane Bayley at the weekly Wednesday Nelson Farmers Market in Morrison Square to present her with prizes.
Jane Bayley was understandably excited to collect her prize. She took her selfie with friend and fellow Selfie Entrant Maree Lawson whilst enjoying one of the Moveable Feasts as a part of the promotion. She said she was going to share her prize with friend Maree Lawson.
Jane came to collect her prizes at Morrison Square today. She received $50 of shopping vouchers at the Nelson Farmer's Market from Amme Hiser, Manager at the Nelson Farmers Market, use of a Bowater Honda for the weekend, thanks to Nick Devereux, Sales Manager at Bowater Honda, $200 of Morrison Square shopping vouchers from Nona Jackson, Manager at Morrison Square, and dinner for two at Panama Kitchen Bar, overnight accommodation and breakfast at The Palms Motel (presented by Cathy Madigan, Manager at Uniquely Nelson).
Feast for the Senses was a month-long promotion throughout July that promoted Nelson City’s dining, arts, festivals and winter events. Bowater Honda joined with Uniquely Nelson to promote the Feast for the Senses campaign with a bright yellow Bowater Honda Jazz covered in Feast for the Senses branding. The Selfie Competition was a fun way for the public to get involved when they saw the car parked around the city. By taking a selfie with the car and uploading to Facebook, participants were entered in the draw the win the Feast for the Senses prize package.
