Relay for Life Mini's restoration in full bloom

The BMG Cancer Society Mini restoration is entering the next phase of work, getting ever closer to completion. The Bowater Motor Group are very pleased to be able to support them through this journey with the sourcing of parts needed, at no cost to the Mini Restoration Team.

Retired mechanic Bob Croy, left, with Ian Mortimer, Mitch Hewson and Caleb Hill of Mortimers Auto Upolstery in Richmond, in the mini they are restoring to raffle at next year's Relay for Life.

With a new coat of paint coloured Daffodil Day yellow, and the numberplate D4FDIL to match, it is clear this is a Mini with a message.

The Wakefield project to restore a 1975 Morris Mini Mark 3 to raffle for the Relay for Life has moved in leaps and bounds since it began last year.

Fresh from a panelbeating and paint job at Sun City Panel and Paint in Nelson, it is now at the upholstery installation stage.

The idea for the project came when retired mechanic Bob Croy and his friends were recovering from last year's Relay for Life, and discussing how they could raise even more money for the Cancer Society at the 2014 relay.

The Bowater Motor Group is very proud of it's employees. Everyone is treated as part of the family, and as such it is important for everyone that works at Bowaters to be able to achieve their full potential. When someone shows interest in taking on more responsibility and upskilling themselves, management at Bowaters take notice, and work hard to make it happen.

This week we enjoyed yet another proud moment behind the scenes of the Bowater Motor Group, as Emma King-Turner, our parts advisor from Bowater Toyota received her National Certificate in Business.

Emma has invested a considerable amount of her "free time" into achieving this qualification, as well as gaining the support of management at Bowater Toyota to enable her to attend the work time courses at MITO (Motor Industry Training Organisation) over the year she has been studying.

Another local wins big and collects a $500 cheque from Bowater Hyundai

Dawn wins a cheque

Hyundai have a policy that when you get your car serviced through their dealer network customers need to also gain a sense of reward. An incentive to keep up a healthy service schedule.

Every week they give away $500 nationally to one lucky service customer that has been in, had a service and gone online to fill out a short customer experience questionnaire on the vehicle service they have just had.

Last week local Bowater Hyundai customers Dawn & Ian Dymond came in to collect their $500 cheque. Dawn's name got drawn the previous week as the winner of cash, and as planning for a month long Caribbean Cruise with her two grown daughters was well underway, the cheque has come at a very welcome time.

It is always great to be able to give our loyal customers incentive gifts like this one - it is always so warmly received, and it is so nice to know that Nelson and Tasman gets so well represented when it comes to winning these national prizes.
Just a few months ago Marlborough Sounds locals David & Sarah Lightfoot also won with Bowater Hyundai (click here) as a part of the Santa Fe Summer Escape promotion.

Dawn and Ian had some very kind words to say about Peter Cantrick and his Parts & Service team at Bowater Hyundai.
