BMG Good Sorts
Celebrate the Good Sorts who are living and working tirelessly within our Nelson Tasman Region.
The Bowater Motor Group and the Nelson Mail are working together to bring attention to those that really go the extra mile for the benefit of the community around them. The unsung heros. The hard working, behind the scenes, kind of people that are in it for the results, not the recognition.
Now it is our chance to collectively recognise the great work these kind people do for us all by nominating them to be our monthly BMG Good Sort!
We are calling for you to nominate your Good Sorts - whether it be your sports coach, team fundraisers, carers, volunteers, charity workers, teachers or even your helpful neighbour.
Whoever they are, they are a Good Sort and we want to join with you and celebrate their effort and contribution to our community.
Every month we will choose and profile Nelson Tasman's Good Sort of the month. A proverbial tip of the hat to them, and they will also receive a $200 Voucher to go out and have a great meal on us, as well as go into the draw for one Good Sort in 2014 to head away for a great night away to rest, unwind and let others take care of them for a change.
You can nominate your good sort by clicking here to go to the Nelson Mail page, fill out the short form, and your vote is cast!
We announce our BMG Good Sorts winner for April - Heather Walker
The nominations for BMG Good Sorts are coming in thick and fast now, with some very deserving people getting the nod from their friends or those touched by just how much of a Good Sort they are!
We are very pleased to announce April's BMG Good Sort - Heather Walker.
Here is the nomination direct from the Nelson Mail website, and what a great one it is.
We think that Heather may have an indication pretty quickly just who is behind this one!
Meet Robyn, our first BMG Good Sort
Robyn Jackman receives her dinner voucher prize from Bowater Honda sales manager Nick D'Evereux.
Our first BMG Good Sort, Robyn Jackman, has been a very hard lady to pin down.
We have had a $200 Smugglers Restaurant Dinner voucher for her to collect here for quite a few weeks, but it has been quite hard to find a compatible time given her seemingly excessively busy schedule.
This busy lady is into everything! And that is a great thing for the Nelson Tasman community as it is Good Sorts like Robyn that make up the behind the scenes glue that holds it all together for the rest of us.
Congratulations to Robyn Jackman, our first BMG Good Sort.
Our first month of BMG Good sorts has been completed and we are very pleased to announce our very first good sort!
The inaugural winner is local hockey steadfast coach and supporter Robyn Jackman.
Here is the nomination, direct from the form.
Robyn has coached various hockey teams over the years.
During the last season she coached the U18 nelson Girls for the 2nd or third season. And when the region was faced with the prospect of not sending a team for U15 girls to tournament as there was no coach, she stepped in and coached them as well. The girls teams doing very well at tournament.
Even though she works, and is a volunteer fire fighter. Robyn is committed to the community and is always ready to help out and will a smile on her face and a can do attitute. And inspiration to the girls she coaches.
