This week the new Bowater Hyundai Showroom came together very quickly as the finishing touches are all put in place - the shiny new tiled floors got a polish and the brand new range of Hyundai's have been put into pride of place.

The new showroom is located on the corner of Rutherford and Hardy street's with ample parking for customers in Kerr Street behind the dealership. It is quite a bit larger than the previous showroom across the road, and allows us to enable a better customer experience.

Not only has the showroom had an injection of space and shininess, but the Bowater Hyundai Parts and Service reception is also enjoying a brand new customer lounge and waiting area - much to the delight of Peter and Lana!

The service bay has also moved across and is also a much larger facility - perfect for keeping your Hyundai in tip top condition!

Hyundai Shell World Rally Team secures first double finish in style with maiden podium at Rally Mexico

The Hyundai Shell World Rally Team has celebrated a landmark result in the gruelling Rally Mexico recently with lead driver Thierry Neuville scoring a maiden podium for the team.

Aussie Chris Atkinson also secured a points finish in his first competitive outing in the Hyundai i20 WRC, fighting his way back to a commendable seventh place after overcoming technical difficulties early in the rally.

Thierry Neuville with his co-driver Nicolas Gilsoul were on scintillating form over the  weekend after initially struggling with the gravel terrain and high altitude on the first full day. The Belgium put in a string of competitive stage times on Saturday to edge his way into a podium position by the end of the day before continuing his fine form into Sunday’s final stages to consolidate the result and pick up 15 drivers’ points.

The result wasn’t without its moments of drama, as the #7 Hyundai i20 WRC developed a radiator leak at the conclusion of the final stage. Neuville and Gilsoul were able to fix the leak in the road section and make it safely back to the service park enabling the drivers and the team to celebrate their well-earned podium result.

The new Bowater Hyundai showroom begins to be refurbished.

The Bowater Motor Group is wasting no time when it comes to the grand plan of relocating several of it's franchises into freshly refurbished showrooms.

With the move now completed for Bowater Honda from their Rutherford & Hardy Streets showroom up to their newly refurbished showroom in Achilles Ave, work has already begun on shifting Bowater Hyundai.

The next stage of the moves will see Bowater Hyundai move across the road and take up residence in a completely refurbished showroom that will better suit the needs of the rapidly growing Hyundai business, and clear the way for the current Bowater Hyundai building located on Hardy street to be demolished and replaced by a large multi franchise used car yard.

Intrado concept to demonstrate Hyundai Motor’s continuing commitment to innovation

131211-intrado

At the 2014 Geneva Motor Show Hyundai Motor is set to unveil Intrado, an iconic concept car that confirms the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation by previewing future developments for the brand.

Intrado is built around a super-lightweight structure made from a mixture of advanced materials and joined using a revolutionary technique that has the potential to change the way cars are constructed in the future. The car also features a next-generation hydrogen fuel cell drivetrain that is both smaller and lighter than that powering the assembly-line-produced Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell.

Intrado will be the first Hyundai concept car to feature styling inspired by Fluidic Sculpture 2.0, the latest iteration of Hyundai’s design language. The result of close collaboration between Hyundai Motor’s design and engineering teams, Intrado was styled and engineered primarily at Hyundai Motor European R&D centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany – as indicated by its codename, HED-9 (Hyundai Europe Design).

Intrado takes its name from the underside of an aircraft’s wing, which produces lift, enabling flight to take place. The advanced technical aspects of Intrado also take inspiration from aircraft, such as the use of advanced materials, removal of all unnecessary weight, a style born solely of purpose, and a highly efficient powertrain.

Peter Schreyer, President & CDO of Hyundai Motor Group, commented: “Hyundai Intrado envisages a motoring future that encapsulates the efficiency and freedom associated with flying. I believe in the power of mobility to deliver emotional as well as physical connections and this car helps us find again the joy of discovery. Intrado shows that future cars can be both relevant and exciting.”

More information about Intrado will be revealed ahead of the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
