The Bowater Motor Group staff function and long service presentations
This time of the year is always busy, with a lot of businesses choosing to have staff functions and Christmas parties to enable their staff to team build outside of the normal environment and let their collective hair down.
The Bowater Motor Group always puts on a function, and with so many staff it becomes quite an event in it's own right. This year we headed to the Anchor Bar & Grill down in Nelson's picturesque marina, for a lovely dinner and the annual presentation of our team's long service awards. It has been a very successful year for the group, and the year is not over yet! Around 120 staff and partners attended, so it was quite a festive occasion, with excellent food and service from the attentive team at the Anchor Bar & Grill.
Bowater Motor Group CEO Rodney Bowater addressed the team and presented the Long Service awards.
Our A&P Show winners collect their prizes
Bowater Toyota had a fantastic recent A&P Show a couple of weekends back. Not only did we win the best Large Trade Exhibit, but also the honour (and trophy) for Best Overall Exhibit.
It is always a really nice feeling to win something, so that is one of the reasons we decided to give away a whole lot of great prizes this year.
We put up a brand new iPad3, an Oakley Toyota 86 Hoodie and a pair of Oakley Toyota 86 sunglasses. All anyone had to do to enter was come along to our stand at the show. Easy as.
The winners came by this week to collect their prizes. Understandably they were chuffed to bits, especially luck iPad winner Chris Foster. Reasonably good prize for filling in his details and correctly answering that indeed the Toyota Hilux had been the Number 1 selling ute in New Zealand for 30 years.

Get a free iPad Retina when you make a deal with Bowater Hyundai this summer.
Bowater Hyundai are keen to get you into a new car for the summer.
So keen that they are going to sweeten the deal with a brand new iPad Retina with every new or used car sold through the dealership.
The best display ever on a mobile device.
Everything you do with iPad, you do through its large, beautiful display. And when the display is better, the entire iPad experience is better. The Retina display on iPad features a 2048-by-1536 resolution, rich color saturation, and an astounding 3.1 million pixels. That’s four times the number of pixels in iPad 2 and a million more than an HDTV. Those pixels are so close together, your eyes can’t discern individual ones at a normal viewing distance. When you can’t see the pixels, you see the whole picture. Or article. Or game. In ways you never could before.
The iPad Retina is the pinnacle of current generation mobile computing power. (Learn more by clicking here). That is why we are adding one to each deal. We thought that those that appreciate the wonder behind the iPad would also appreciate the Hyundai range of cars, with it's fluidic design and commitment to technical excellence. A perfect match.
The top car shows say their piece on the Toyota 86
The Toyota 86 has been out for a few months now, has been getting rave reviews and awards across the board, and now the videos from the big car shows like Top Gear and 5th Gear are beginning to filter onto the internet.
These shows, and what they say, can literally make or break the launch buzz as a new car comes onto the market. This is ever more crucial when that car has been hyped as much as the Toyota 86. Most people that have been following the development rely on the opinions of "those in the know" before committing to beginning the paths to purchase. At $41,986, the base model Toyota 86 is very affordable, but the last thing anyone wants to do is spend money on a performance car that just does not perform. Is all of the hype justified? What will my friends think? Is this really what I am looking for? These are all very valid questions, and the first stage of this journey is to let the "professionals" do the talking.
First show of the grid, the UK's Fifth Gear.
If you are in a rush fast forward 30 seconds to get past the intro.
Overall a very positive outcome and an endorsement. The final word from Fifth Gear presenter Jason Plato "This definitely feels like a car that has been designed for people that like driving........"
