It is time again to be all "Good in the Hood" and give away some money
The Bowater Motor Group are super excited to be able to be a part of yet another round of excellent community funding through the Z Energy "Good in the Hood" funding programme.
Bowater Z Motors of Motueka are a community service station through and through. The BMG site on High Street in the centre of town has had a service station on that same spot for generations. The changeover into a Z Station brought with it a new focus back into the community from the Fuel provider, with Z Energy committed to serving the local communities it fuelled.
Part of this new concept of giving back was the establishment of the Z "Good in the Hood" campaign. This involves 4 charities being nominated to receive their share of $4,000 - all allocated via the voting process. If one charity gets 80% of the overall votes from the public, they will receive 80% of the $4,000. Simple as that.
Good on them we say, and we are very excited to be able to hand over this funding on their behalf.
This year for the early 2014 Z Good in the Hood campaign the groups nominated to receive their share of the $4,000 funding pot have just been announced.
But before we look at the future lets take a minute to look back at the good we all did last year.
We had such a great response from last years local campaign that this time around we had a heap of charities sticking up their hand to be a part of the 2014 funding round.
2014 Z Good in the Hood - and the winners are......
Right from the get go it is important for everyone that reads this to make a commitment to come on down to Z Bowater Motors and vote for their favourite charity during all of March. The voting commences on 1st March and finishes at the end of trading on 31st March.
The 4 local charities to receive their share of the $4,000 as decided by the public are as follows:
- Victim Support Motueka
- Motueka Search & Rescue
- Motueka Plunket
- St John Motueka
As we get closer to voting in March we will have a chance to meet with representatives from each of these organisations and get to know a little more about the kind of good that these charities do in our local community.
Each neighbourhood group will also be in line to receive even more funding if they’re one of the ten groups nationwide who receive the most votes in our online Token Hunt. During the month of March customers will be able to hunt for virtual tokens at z.co.nz/TokenHunt and use them to vote for the group they want to support. There will also be some spot prizes up for grabs via Token Hunt, because Z Energy thinks one good turn deserves another!
So pop into your local Z or online to www.z.co.nz/TokenHunt in March and vote for the neighbourhood group that means the most to you.
