Join us, adventure sport icon Nathan Faavae, and the adventurous RAV4
There is adventure in everyone.
But in some there is more than others. Alot more.
We invite you to come & hear all about it from a true adventure sport superstar.
2012 World Adventure Race Champion & local lad Nathan Faavae will join us for this very special event, the launch of the new 2013 Toyota RAV4.
We would like to personally invite you to join us at Bowater Toyota on Friday 19th April from 5pm for some drinks and nibbles as we launch the all new, 4th generation Toyota RAV4. Hear what Nathan has to say about his breathtaking adventures over the years from 6pm. For many of us he needs no introduction, and we are very fortunate to have nabbed him fresh off the plane from a race in China a couple of days before as he shoots through to his 2013 training base in Queenstown. It will be a great night, full of inspiration and of course the chance to get an inside look at the equally adventurous remodelled Toyota RAV4.
Nathan Faavae is a world leading Adventure Race athlete, a champion at the top of his field and a multi-sport icon. Nathan is also involved with outdoor education and passionate about our region, adventure tourism and his family, as well as being a great speaker and a genuinely nice guy. It is a treat to have him here, so make sure you don't miss this opportunity!
Bowater Toyota. cnr Rutherford & Halifax Streets.
Friday 19th April from 5 - 7pm.
It is going to be a night full of adventure, some great local snacks and drinks, and we are sure some laughs from Nathan.
DAIHATSU TO WIND DOWN SALES IN NEW ZEALAND
Toyota New Zealand (TNZ) has made the decision to discontinue sales of new Daihatsu vehicles by the end of the year.
TNZ General Manager of Sales and Operations Steve Prangnell says the company is regretfully unable to secure Daihatsu products that comply with future regulatory standards for New Zealand, but the decision will not disadvantage any customers who already own Daihatsu vehicles.
“We want to assure customers that we will honour our commitment to Daihatsu owners in New Zealand and they need not worry about ongoing support. Toyota dealers will continue to supply parts and provide comprehensive service support for those vehicles,” Mr Prangnell says.
TNZ will send letters to Daihatsu owners advising them of the announcement and their commitment to ongoing parts and service support. Owners can also obtain information through the TNZ website on www.toyota.co.nz or can call 0800 869 682.
Toyota New Zealand took over the Daihatsu business in the New Zealand market in 2002.
Trailer backing champion? Better than this Aucklander?
Apparently some Aucklander's are not very good at backing.
Or so the image suggests. That poor tree. And since when is it ok to park a trailer on the footpath, especially when it is right next to a park bench?????
It might also be a bit of a fib to get some conversation going.
You would be right in guessing that this is the brand new 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe.
It hasn't officially been released yet, so we have to use images sent to us by Hyundai. This is a lovely image of the new Santa Fe on Auckland's iconic waterfront infront of Rangitoto Island.
It originally didn't come with the picture of the trailer, we just photoshopped that in. Unfortunately to get it looking right, the trailer has ended up parked all crazy, but it is a nice segway.
We think we are pretty good at backing trailers here in Nelson / Tasman. It is that kind of lifestyle region. A trailer expands your options so much, and also helps you get a whole lot more work done. So many of us have our own trailers, and everywhere you go on holiday people are carting their gear, bikes, kids bikes, BBQ's and firewood around.
To make a point we decided that it would be a great idea to hold a trailer backing competition. Mitre 10 Mega have kindly loaned us the use of their trailers and their carpark on Saturday 20th April for the afternoon from 1-3pm. We think we can find the Trailer Backing Champion of the world right here, and that champion will get a lovely dinner for two at 623.
The rules? Not quite sure yet. Will the main prize go to the fastest? The most precise? Or the best dressed? Not to worry we will have plenty of other spot prizes on the day to keep everyone happy.
