Bowater Toyota Motueka gets a new look, and better functionality
The Bowater Motor Group is fully committed to the Tasman region, with the Bowater Toyota branch in Motueka able to offer a full range of new and used vehicles, as well as parts and servicing.
Our site also houses the freshly rebranded Z Bowater Motors Service Station. When the service station got rebranded back in March it was decided to be the perfect time to look at the ergonomics and traffic flow on the entire site.
It was decided that the existing Lube Bay and high lift vehicle hoist be moved to within the Bowater Toyota service workshop, which meant the need to reshuffle some walls - and the perfect time to give the show room a new look!
The redesigned space is lighter and feels a whole lot more spacious - giving us the ability to better show off these amazing cars!
Toyota adds Double Cab to safer Landcruiser 70 Series
Toyota has upgraded its Land Cruiser 70 Series range with new double cab versions and improved safety across the line-up.
The new double cab body style joins the single cab, hard top (or Troop Carrier) and wagon. Like the single cab, the double cab cab-chassis will be offered in standard and LX grades. The hard top is available exclusively in standard grade, while the wagon has LX specifications.
The key safety feature is the adoption of ABS anti-lock brakes on all models. The ABS will operate when the vehicle is in H2 and H4 modes, except when the optionally available differential locks are engaged. Rear brakes have changed from drum type to disc type to support the ABS operation.
Toyota New Zealand General Manager of Product Planning, Neeraj Lala said, “Land Cruiser 70 has a fantastic reputation in New Zealand as a work horse that’s invaluable in many commercial and rural communities. We know there’s been local conversion of the short wheelbase wagon variant to turn it into a double cab with cab-chassis, so we’re pleased to announce that a factory-made longer wheelbase version is now available.”
Nelson Prius Challenge winners take an Epic East Coast Prius C Roadtrip
It seems like a lifetime ago since Nick Marer blew us all away with his astounding 2.5L/100km drive around the Prius Challenge course.
Since then many have tried, but no one else has managed to topple Nick off his throne as the Bowater Toyota Eco Driving King!
As a reward for being such a nice bloke, and a very eco minded driver, we gave him the use of the Prius C for a week to go where ever he wanted. When he rocked up with his wife April and casually mentioned the Ruapuna Speedway, a few nervous chuckles were heard. Nick has also gained the unenviable reputation of a NZ land speed record holder in his own Prius, captured in all it's glory on a massive speeding ticket!
Fear not we thought, as Nick and April drove off into the sunset about to embark on an East Coast Prius Roadtrip.
April did the driving and was very impressed with the low fuel use, even compared to their bigger engined "normal" Prius.
