BMG helps the local scouts get settled.
The Bowater Motor Group is very active in the local community, and as such we are constantly offering ways to help those community groups that struggle to make ends meet in the best way we can.
For community groups one of the biggest expenditures is events, and providing ways of weatherproofing or providing shelter for their participants.
We are very fortunate to have a very large marque that we use quite regularily at the events we attend. However we also have a system in place in which we can lend out our large marque to community groups for events. All you have to do is call the friendly team at the reception desk of Bowater Toyota (0800 269 283) and see if it is available to book.
Last week we received a wonderful letter from some very appreciative recipients of the Bowaters Marque - the local Scout group at a camp recently.
Not only did we get this most gracious letter of thanks, but we also received some great photos of the event as well.
Successful opening night for Bowater Honda comes with a nice surprise.
A beautiful night and a stunning new showroom brought the crowds to our opening event.
Thursday the 27th February 2014 was a very significant evening for Bowater Honda. It was on this wondefully fine night we held the opening event for the newly refurbished showroom on Achilles Ave that we are so very proud of.
The guests enjoying some fine Waimea Estates wine as served by Martin Carrington, the Waimea Sales & Marketing Manager
What surprised and delighted us was the amazing turnout by locals to attend this event. In all between 225 - 250 people came along to show their support, enjoy our hospitality and get a wee surprise themselves. We were very lucky have Murray Selby along, he is the Executive General Manager of Honda New Zealand and he bought with him a very special treat. Bowater Honda was the first Honda showroom in New Zealand to unveil the fantastic new assessment vehicle, the Honda N One - a jazzy wee urban car that is both very fuel efficient and also very very stylish, roomy and technologically advanced.
We were a little surprised ourselves by the almost overwhelming numbers of locals that turned up to show their support for our newly relocated showroom. The line stretched right out the door and snaked along the footpath at one stage! Apologies to any that had to wait in the late afternoon sun a little too long.
Bowater Toyota scoops the awards and comes out on top.
Bowater Toyota CEO Tony Bowater with Toyota NZ CEO Alistair Davis
Last weekend, in Auckland, Toyota NZ held it's annual Dealer Conference. It is a chance for dealers to all get together, share some stories and be a part of the annual awards ceremony.
This year Bowater Toyota was very successful again and scooped several major national awards.
Bowater Toyota CEO Tony Bowater was very honoured to represent his hardworking team in Auckland, visiting the stage on 4 separate ocassions. The major awards for the dealership were the national 2013 Parts Excellence Trophy and the 2013 New Vehicle Excellence Cup. The Bowater Toyota Dealership was also runner up in the Service Excellence Cup, as well as runner up in the Dealer of the Year award.
In addition to these prestigious awards, Bowater Toyota also received recognition with the Toyota Platinum Award, an award that is given for outstanding excellence in all areas of the business, and the Triple Crown Award (being the top sellers in passenger, commercial and overall new market share within our region).
The accolades however did not stop there. The following morning at the post awards breakfast Bowater Toyota were singled out again and held up as a shining example of how dealerships could be actively engaged in contributing to the local community.
This was a very humbling moment said Bowater Toyota CEO Tony Bowater as "all the company was doing was returning the favour and supporting the community just as they supported the business".
Bowater Toyota provides cars with heart!
When it comes to having heart, Bowater Toyota has got plenty, and even plenty to spare!
We were recently approached by Shane our friendly Anchor milkman and Steve Steele to lend support to a group of keen locals involved in the @ Heart Charity Run in aid of raising money for At Heart - charity that supports Kiwi children and families affected by CHD (congenital heart defect), right through their life. Another local milkman Trevor Nicholls stepped up to the plate as an additional driver and the Bowater Toyota sponsored entry was born!
Trevor Nicholls receives the keys to the aptly named Super Windy from Bowater Toyota CEO Tony Bowater.
The plan was to enter a car into the Charity run from Auckland all the way back to Nelson over the course of a week, fund raising all of the way.
Of course we jumped on board, with a recently traded 1998 Toyota Corolla Super Windy the recipient of some stylish signwriting from Mark and the team at The Signman.
