Ever since our humble beginnings in downtown Nelson in 1945 the Bowater Motor Group has been very focused on community involvement. We believe that you are only ever as successful as the support that you can give back. It is with this philosophy that we continue to be as involved as we can be in the wider Nelson / Tasman community.
This section of the website houses stories, links and content from a collective of organisations and events that we are involved with or support through sponsorship or partnerships.
The menu to the right has got comprehensive articles from those events, organisations and charities that we regularly involved with, click on the menu items to read more, or scroll down this page to keep up with events as they unfold.
If you think you have an event, organisation or group that would benefit from our community interest feel free to contact us.
Bowater Hyundai helping Big Brothers Big Sisters soar and succeed
(BBBS) is an organisation making a “big” difference in children and young people’s lives, creating lasting bonds and providing access to opportunities that every child should have, through mentoring.
BBBS has a very necessary mission: to help children and youth realise their potential, build their futures,
and strengthen communities. They believe that every child deserves to “soar and succeed”.
Bowater Hyundai is a cornerstone sponsor and supports Big Brothers Big Sisters because they believe in the values of mentoring and contributing to the community.
Bowater Hyundai and Isuzu are standing strong in the corner
VICTORY BOXING, Nelson is doing some wonderful work in the community. Bowater Hyundai & Isuzu are proud to be standing strongly in their corner and helping them get out and about.
Paul Hampton turned from running a classroom to running a boxing gym and has poured his energy into
a project that he always knew would have the potential to change lives.
Several years on, the Victory Boxing gym is going from strength to strength and class sizes are swelling.
“At first it might seem that Victory Boxing is only about boxing, but it’s not really. It’s all about the kids – giving youth a safe and positive place to hang out, a place to get fit and develop healthy lifestyle habits, values and attitudes, and a place to be the best they can be.
Inspiring inquiring minds and dicovering the power of dreams
Cawthron Institute Community Educator Cristina Armstrong and Bowater Honda Agency Manager Nick D'Evereux.
Bowater Honda, and the wider Bowater Motor Group, have been long time supporters of the Cawthron Institute. Their Community Education Programme is an area where Bowater Honda has had a direct connection since 2011, with the help of a new vehicle to enable the education facilitator to get out and about in our local region.
The Cawthron Institute is very focused on engaging with the youth of our community, inspiring them to take an active role with science.
Bowater Honda are keen to help this organisation move the minds of as many children as possible, opening them up to a world of scientific wonder, and hopefully starting at least a few of them on a life long journey of discovery.
The Bowater Honda team recently handed over a new Honda HR-V compact SUV to Cawthron Community Educator Cristina Armstrong.
This is a vehicle that will serve her well in her role and enable her to travel the top of the south region comfortably with a 5 Star ANCAP Safety rating, an abundance of state of the art technology, and the space to move science around in style! It drives like a car but has the extra height and space to enable bigger payloads and more fun, whilst still being very economical on fuel and emissions.
The interior size defies the exterior dimensions, offering up to five passengers the leg, shoulder and head room often found in a larger SUV. With Honda's unique Magic Seats System and centre Fuel Tank layout, Honda's Engineers have created one of the most spacious and adaptable cabins in its class.
The HR-V comes standard with Daytime Running Lights, Multi-Angle Reverse Camera with Parking Aid, Bluetooth, Electric Parking Brake, Emergency Stop Signal, Hill Start Assist, and Brake Hold Function.
Call the Bowater Honda sales team to enquire about this remarkable vehicle and how you can get into one today.
Prices start from $29,900 +orc and come in many different configurations.
