Everyone was a winner at the Parent and Child Expo, especially this family.
David & Aaron from Bowater Toyota along with 6 year old Sophia Eagle who took quite a liking to the brightly coloured 2014 Toyota Yaris.
Saturday the 11th of October was a busy day in Nelson. There was a lot on and the sun was burning brightly, luring the locals outside and to the beaches with the first tastes of summer.
That did not stop the hundreds of expectant and current parents from coming along to the Annesbrook Community Centre to enjoy the 2nd Annual Nelson Parent and Child Expo.
The team from Bowater Toyota turned up bright and early, some with their own children in tow, ready to answer all sorts of curly questions about vehicle safety, car seat attachments and whether or not the boot space would be enough to swallow a stroller, temporary cradle for the event of unplanned naps, 3 complete changes of outfits, various feeding tools, a play mat and assorted favourite toys, change mat and an enormous nappy bag for spontaneous trips to the park. Stuff that all new parents fret about.
We also contributed to the awesomeness of the event by putting up a great prize, a free weekend's use of one of our brand new 2014 demonstrator vehicles, to be won by one lucky attendee - and the winner is.......
Bowater Honda's Nick is not above faking it according to one customer.
Bowater Honda Sales Manager Nick D'evereux with the card he received thanking him for his perseverance.
A thankyou card accidently came into the media department here at the Bowater Motor Group recently that was so sweet that we had to share it.
Bowater Honda's Sales Manager Nick D'Evereux eventually had the pleasure of receiving a lovely letter of thanks from recent customer Lynn and her husband once we had finished with it.
The letter is artfully written and details a series of events that conspired to convince Lynn that the newly traded red Honda Jazz was indeed just right for her.
Win one of our demo vehicles at the Nelson Parent & Child Expo
If you are a new parent, or even a well seasoned one, the Nelson Parent & Child Expo happening this Saturday at the Annesbrook Community Centre is well worth the visit. This year it has been moved to this large community space at 40 Saxton Road, easily accessed of either the motorway heading south from Nelson, or from Main Road Stoke. There is plenty of parking on site and looking at a stall holders list it is going to be a feature rich day with plenty to see and do.
The team from Bowater Toyota are going to be set up in the entrance foyer with a couple of stunning new vehicles, the always popular, ready for anything Toyota RAV - and the new 2014 Toyota Yaris - a small car that packs in a whole lot of safety and technology into a small, very fuel efficient space. Perfect for zipping and zapping around town.
We will also have a great competition on the cards as well - the chance to win one of our great demonstrator vehicles for a weekend of your choice.
Will it all go sideways with the Bowater Toyota "Awesome 86" sled at the BMG Slush Cup?
Al Mapperley (Finance Manager) and Tony Bowater (CEO) imagining the sheer terror about to be experienced by whomever is brave enough to pilot this deathtrap in the upcoming Slush Cup.
The Slush Cup is always an amazing way to close off another super successful ski season at our favourite local winter playground - Rainbow Ski Field. Bowater Toyota have been principle sponsor of this event for the last couple of years and it is an absolute blast! If you haven't seen a slush cup before you need to get up the mountain this weekend and get involved.
It has been postponed a couple of times already this season due to too much snow falling over the last couple of weekends (that can never be a bad thing), but with this weekend being the final hoorah - the closing weekend for the season, and with still some decent snow on the ground, it is the perfect time to be doing the runs - and due to the warmer weather we can expect to see a wild array of costumes to make it all the more interesting!
The BMG Bowater Toyota Slush Cup is a fun family friendly event involving a purpose built pond in the middle of the skifield with a nice entry slope, an expanse of quite cold and slushy water and a nice exit ramp - all to facilitate the gentle art of gracefully skimming across the surface on your skis or snowboard, or failing spectacularly in a flurry of wailing and flailing.
The AWESOME86 Sled of doom doesn't have the same "skimming" qualities of a nice pair of skis or a snow board, but it does have a super smooth metal bottom plate. What is the worse that could happen?
